Motorpool jeans are great for riding on the street, or on crusty ole 2-strokes

Moto pants are probably the trickiest aspect of my riding getup. I don’t like any gear that really shouts “I RIDE A MOTORCYCLE,” but I also want to make sure I’m protected. Dress for the slide, not the ride, right? Motorpool jeans from Ugly Bros are taken from years of riding experience and built 100% for motorcycling, but have a casual and stylish look that won’t have you feeling like a moto-dad when you’re off the bike.
I have spent a full day out riding single-track in these bad boys and I’ve spent a day riding 700 miles in them. They were comfortable the whole time, and I knew I would be protected if things happened to go south.
Normal jeans aren’t made to be sat in all day. Your waistband will sit at a weird angle and put stress on your hips, your knees are squeezed by unforgiving fabric and your pockets are completely inaccessible. If you wear loose pants to relieve the stress on these points, they will flap around at speed and catch the wind which is not only annoying but can be dangerous as well. Motorpools have elastic portions on the back below the waistband and above each knee, so the pants will stretch with you when you move. The 11oz denim also has a little bit of stretch to it, which makes them incredibly comfortable. Knee pads slide in and out without having to take your pants off

CE pads are one of the necessary evils of moto gear. They’re big and bulky, uncomfortable when you’re legs and elbows are straight, but they’re the only thing that’ll keep your bones from shattering if you get off the bike. Ugly Bros has figured out the solution to this, and it works perfectly. The kneepads slip into a pocket that’s accessible from the outside of the pants, so you don’t have to disrobe to pull the pads out. The hip pads are not quite as subtle, requiring you to unbutton and unzip but not fully remove the pants to remove them. While riding, the pads are comfortable and easy to ignore, and when you stop, they’re easy to remove.

UglyBros Motorpool in Olive

The pockets on these jeans are equipped with a button closure, and laid out in a way that they’re totally accessible from any riding position. Whether you’re stretched out with your feet in front of you on a Cruiser or have them underneath you on something more sporty, you’ll have full access to your gear. The buttons can be a little tough to work when you have your gloves on, but knowing your belongings are secure is worth it.
The Ugly Bros line covers everything from Kevlar-lined selvedge denim to coated, waterproof motorcycle pants and these Motorpools are at the top of the list. Available in a range of colors, and for men or women, these jeans really are the end of my moto pants struggle. However, there’s no way to not address the $329 price tag on these bad boys. The cheapest riding jeans we’ve tried are from AGV Sport at $129, but those are what I was referencing when I said “moto-dad” earlier, and Rokker’s waterproof jeans are all the way up at $549, which is enough to pick up a project bike on Craigslist. Many riding jeans in the lower price-point offer the CE pads for purchase separately, which radically cuts the cost, but the Motorpools have the hip and knees included. All things considered, your safety is worth it. The construction is as high quality as the fabrics used and they’re sure to last through many riding seasons, gaining character all the while, and keeping you safe and comfortable.
